The English is a language that many people around the world nowadays speak. The Germanic tribes bring it, they arrived to Britain. These continue after the eleventh century with the Vikings which introduced the Latin language. There are three different types of English which are old, middle, and modern English. The old English was a likeness from the Ango-Notman-French. It is known that the old English is still spoken but in another form and words, this is a helpful aspect since it would be complicated to read and understand, as time has passed it had being modifying it. Middle English surge between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries; with dialects on vowels, also the grammar changed. The modifying of words pilot they way that we speak nowadays. Modern English is the common English that it is use. Besides it is the common and normal English that we use it is difficult to learn by others, all depends on where you lived, and because it could be that some words are not the same also dialects can differ. English will never be constant always it will have modifications. I think that this article is giving true facts about how English began by telling when do it starts and how it is evolving has time goes by. Also an important fact that was mention that help with the comprehension was that they are like three types of English, they are old, middle and modern, in which they have made modifications and some changes in grammar that by doing this we use them today. I assume that she wrote this article to inform the people about the changing and the progress that the English language has become and to tell or inform the citizens that are interest in learning English that is not just a piece of cake, it is hard and has its complications. With this article I can get the idea that if you want to learn something you have to put a lot of effort on it to achieve your goal, this can be apply for everything, in your daily life with all the courses or business that you have to do it. The history of English Language by Risa

In this article the spectators could be any people that are interested in knowing more information about the English language even though if they are practicing. The main point of this article is to inform about how the English language had changed throughout the time and the grammar that was used. The style that the author uses in a formal manner since it is using the correct form it is also giving her opinion.

English is not an old language. In the fifth century English arrived to England, land of Angles, in their people who practice it where the Saxons and the Angles, they call their languages as englisc which means the language that the Angles spoke. It is known that the English is part of the West-Germanic sub –family of the Indo-Europeanlanguages as well as Frisian, also a part of the sub-family, still has the closest relationship with the old English of the Angles and Saxons. At the time that the englisc arrived Latin was the usual language in the South and East among other languages in different regions. Until the tenth century that Athelstan, grandson son of Alfred the Great, conquered all the kingdoms south of the Firth of Forth, English had become the common language of England. The language of English has a strain dialect in which it uses a syllable to deference words when they are spoken. This natural trend in which moving the stress back might be the significant change that happened during the 15th and 16th centuries, this is known as the Great Vowel Shift. English might have change but the original core is still there. The core has been fastening intended for across time and space. English has different forms of speaking it, Elizabethan is different but not so unlike at all only we do not use so commonly that type of words. The changes that are made for a language must continue otherwise it expires. This article written by Risa was fully in detail because it mentions a lot of facts, dates and years and other information that was essential in order to understand this article. Also it tells you that English was use by the Angles and Saxons with this information you can picture that they were the high society and that they were the only ones that can use it. In this article you can see that the author make an emphasis in the way of how the English has changed during the time. With this phrase that it is in the article “Change to a living language must continue or the language dies” in my opinion this means that if you make a change and do not make it work or use it, it will not be any efficient at all or in order words will be like if you did not do anything. So if you make or change something you must keep working or practicing on it.

The history of English Languague

In this article written by Sammy Stein the viewers are people that have the will to learn English and in the proper form. The most important point from this is to inform and make consciousness that English is the second most important language in the world this means that many people are practicing and at a certain point it could be beneficiary to know it. This passage has an formal tone also it is subjective because the author is giving its point of view in respect the English language.

There are many words that you might thing that they are originated from English but they are not; English is not as uncontaminated as it seems it is. English has been changed through the years and nowadays is also being change, the reason to this is that the island nation of England has many civilizations in which they practices English and made some changes to it. The first foremost modification in the English language was when the Vikings conquered England. They introduce words from their own. Then the Romans enter by force and they convey more different words which are driven from Latin origins. The Latin is best known for being a well educated people, even though the poor people speak their own dialect. After the 1066 French was spoken due that the court was French so it widely spread. Also Spanish rulers came to England and introduce some of their words. Many of the words you use have a origin which you can trace. Linguistics is what makes English unique. Basically English is a mixture of many other languages besides this is the second most common language in the world. It is known that English has become the languages of business and media and everywhere you go you will see advertisements and people speaking it. With the English language you will always have new words. This article was pretty much interesting because Sammy Stein included several relevant details which call my attention and make me like her article. In addition I like the way, style and structure that her article has since in every paragraph was something attractive. One of the things that call my attention foremost was that English can always have new words and its old words are a mixture of terms from different places. With this editorial I learn more things about the English language. As already mention English has many words and most of them came from different part of the world, you can search for the roots and identify from where it is originated. The English language had been had lots of modifications, with this you can analyze that something can vary large number of possibilities. In base on the article it is said that “Probably one of the most commonly asked questions by tourists form England, Canada and America when they are abroad but what if the question back to them was, 'Do you speak French? Or Italian, Or Latin? Or Spanish?' The initial answer might be 'no' but chances are you probably do. Do, not the full language but certainly odd words from it” this is referring that many people speak English or a little bit of it so that way it is important to know English because it is a very common language and you can communicate with others.

What should we learn, English as a lingua franca or “formal” English?

In my opinion I could say that in a certain way it is part of both in view of the fact that knowing English as a second language or lingua franca can facilitate your life since many people nowadays are practicing it. To know English in a formal form it is also quite important for the reason that many people could speak English so this could be different and vary from place to place and if it is in a formal way it is like a standard form in which that everyone can use it and each person can understand each other.
